What is Crown Siege?

Crown Siege is a short incremental siege and tower-defense game by JOrbits Games. You rapidly recruit armies to protect a central tower while increasingly large enemy waves pressure your economy and army composition.

The full release expands the original demo with a branching world map, more player and enemy units, deeper skill-tree progression, multiple upgrade currencies, bosses, active abilities, and a Sandbox Mode for pushing unlocked builds further.

  2. 2

Defeat enemies such as goblins to earn Gold, then spend it on additional troops during battle.

  4. 4

Move between connected map nodes, clear new encounters and collect the resources required for further progression.

Crown Siege Units & Army Guide

Explore Crown Siege units and understand how individual troop types interact with upgrades, currencies and army composition. Recent balance patches directly changed several units, so this page should track unit mechanics alongside current patch behavior.

  • Fire Archers

In v1.0.3, Fire Archers were changed to gain Ember when they first set an enemy on fire instead of when that enemy dies.

  • Pyromancers

Pyromancers use the same updated Ember rule as Fire Archers, awarding Ember when an enemy is first ignited.

  • ShadowKnight

ShadowKnight now awards Knight SP according to the v1.0.3 balance update.

  • Paladin

Paladin now awards Knight SP according to the v1.0.3 balance update.

  • Ballista

v1.0.3 fixed Ballista so it receives bonuses from ranged upgrades instead of melee upgrades.

Crown Siege Skill Tree & Upgrades

Understand the expanded Skill Tree and which progression resources are required for new upgrades. Crown Siege uses multiple resource types rather than a single experience track, including Crowns and unit-specific SP.

  • Experience

Experience is one of the core resources used to strengthen units and progress through the expanded Skill Tree.

  • Crowns

Crowns are used for permanent progression and upgrades; v1.0.2_e also made each of the first three cursed levels award one Crown.

  • Unit SP

The full-release Skill Tree includes unit-specific SP requirements, allowing progression to depend on specific unit families.

  • Third Unit Slot

v1.0.3 moved the third Unit slot requirement from Ember to Petals so players can unlock it earlier.

Crown Siege Map & Progression Guide

Follow Crown Siege's branching world map and identify which areas, encounters and resource rewards matter for progression. The full release replaced the demo's more linear level sequence with connected map nodes and multiple routes.

  • World Map

Full-release progression takes place across connected map nodes instead of the demo's preset linear level sequence.

  • Northern Swamp

v1.0.2_e lowered the difficulty of the northern swamp levels and removed their movement-speed reduction.

  • Cursed Levels

The first three cursed levels award one Crown each after the v1.0.2_e progression update.

  • Frog Queen

v1.0.2_e added a quest indicator showing the Frog Queen's location on the map.

  • Currency Indicators

v1.0.3 added level indicators showing which currency a level will primarily reward.

Crown Siege Resources & Currencies

Track the resources used for recruiting troops, unlocking Skill Tree upgrades and opening additional army options. Currency acquisition is a major part of Crown Siege progression and has already received substantial post-launch balancing.

  • Gold

Gold is earned from defeating enemies during battles and is used to recruit additional troops.

  • Ember

After v1.0.3, Fire Archers and Pyromancers generate Ember when they first set an enemy on fire rather than on the enemy's death.

  • Corn

v1.0.3 substantially increased the rate at which Corn is awarded.

  • Petals

Petals became the requirement for unlocking the third Unit slot in v1.0.3.

  • Magic

The developers identified Magic as a current progression hurdle while discussing resource balancing in the v1.0.3 update.

Crown Siege Bosses & Enemies

Prepare for the enemy types and major encounters that block progression across Crown Siege's fantasy map. Official descriptions and updates confirm enemies ranging from basic goblins and trolls to dragons and the Frog Queen encounter area.

  • Goblins

Goblins are a core recurring enemy type and can be defeated during battles to earn Gold.

  • Trolls

Trolls are one of the larger fantasy enemy types explicitly featured in the official Crown Siege game description.

  • Dragon Boss

v1.0.3 fixed an issue that could make the Dragon Boss unbeatable.

  • Frog Queen

The v1.0.2_e update added a map quest indicator directing players to the Frog Queen's location.

Crown Siege Sandbox Mode

Use Crown Siege's Sandbox Mode to experiment with content you have unlocked and push army scaling beyond normal progression. It is designed as a place to test extreme combinations after progressing through the main game.

  • Unlocked Content

The official launch announcement states that players can take content they have unlocked into Sandbox Mode.

  • Army Experiments

Sandbox Mode is intended for pushing unit combinations and scaling beyond ordinary campaign encounters.

  • Extreme Scaling

The developers explicitly warn that Sandbox Mode may not remain optimized when players push it to its maximum limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

When did Crown Siege release?

The full version launched on Steam on September 18, 2026. Its demo had already been available since May 30, 2026, so early impressions may describe the smaller demo build rather than the release version.

Is there a free demo?

Yes. Crown Siege Demo is a separate free Steam app (4345530), and JOrbits also publishes an older official browser build on itch.io. Demo content is a smaller slice of the game, so this wiki labels demo-only information separately from the full release.

Which platforms is Crown Siege on?

Crown Siege is available on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux. No PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch or Roblox release has been verified, so this wiki does not cover those platforms.

Does Crown Siege have multiplayer or co-op?

No. The Steam store lists Crown Siege as a single-player title, and progression is built around solo runs through the map.

What changed in the latest patch?

Patch v1.0.1_a adjusted late-game difficulty scaling and allows all unit types to attack flying enemies, so flying waves are no longer limited to one specialist answer.
